Thank You to IOOB for their Longstanding Support

For over 20 years, IOOB has generously supported the residents of Alkira’s supported accommodation — and we are continually grateful for their ongoing kindness.

For over 20 years, the International Order of Old Bastards (IOOB) has generously supported the residents of Alkira’s supported accommodation — and we are continually grateful for their ongoing kindness.

Each year, IOOB provides funding to help cover the cost of groceries for people living in our shared homes. These residents live on disability pensions, with most of their income going toward essential living costs such as rent and bills. What little remains is stretched to cover things like medical needs, clothing, and the occasional social outing. IOOB’s support helps ease this financial pressure and means our residents can enjoy a little more freedom and comfort in their everyday lives.

In years past, IOOB delivered pallet loads of groceries and treats—enough to support seven houses over Christmas and well into the new year. Their continued generosity has made a real difference, ensuring that people in our community not only have enough food, but also a sense of dignity, joy, and connection.

We thank the IOOB for standing by Alkira and making life a little easier — and a lot brighter — for so many.
