Our Support Coordination service is available Australia-wide, with remote support available if you’re unable to attend in person. Our office is based in Box Hill, Victoria.
Vehra has been working as a Support Coordinator since 2018. She speaks English and Portuguese and can understand Spanish.
Growing up in Brazil and seeing so many disadvantaged people, inequality and poverty encouraged Vehra to do volunteer work from a very young age. Vehra came to Melbourne and completed her diploma in Community Welfare Work at Swinburne, and found a passion in disability support after completing her placement in a disability service.
At times, being a foreigner in Australia makes Vehra feel she can relate to difficulties to do with communication issues and the feeling of having to repeat yourself to be understood. She wants to inspire and empower NDIS participants and their families by supporting them to understand the complex NDIS language.
Vicki has been a Support Coordinator since 2020 and brings nearly 30 years of experience in the community services sector, including disability, aged care, and mental health.
She has worked closely with the NDIS for the past eight years and is passionate about helping participants feel supported, informed, and confident in achieving their goals.
While both roles support your NDIS journey, they serve different functions:
You’ll need funding in your NDIS plan under Capacity Building – Support Coordination. This funding is separate from your Core Supports and is designed to help you implement your plan, connect with providers, and build your confidence to manage supports on your own.
It depends on your needs. Some participants prefer regular check-ins, while others may only need support during key periods like plan reviews or life transitions. At Alkira, we tailor the schedule to you — providing the right support at the right time.
