Our Connections service includes a range of group-based supports tailored to individual interests. Whether you’re developing daily living skills, getting creative, or heading out into the community, our programs help you grow in confidence and build lasting connections.

Choose from a variety of skill-building supports that help you gain independence and confidence. Learn to budget, meal plan, navigate public transport, and more – all with guided support.

We provide creative supports that enable self‑expression, skill development, and connection to the community. Participants are supported to engage with art in a welcoming environment that builds confidence. Sharing work with the wider community is part of this support, including the opportunity to exhibit pieces in our annual Art Exhibition at the Box Hill Community Arts Centre.

Our exercise supports focus on building physical capacity, routine, and confidence to support everyday life and community participation. Participants are supported to develop strength, mobility, coordination, and endurance through meaningful movement that contributes to daily functioning and independence.

Our work‑related supports focus on developing practical skills and gaining confidence, while aligning with individual interests and strengths. Participants are supported to build transferable skills that can be applied in daily life, community settings, and future employment pathways.

We have availability across all days Monday to Friday for our day programs, with no cut-off dates for commencing services.
It’s easy to get in touch with us. Simply fill out the enquiry form and one of our friendly staff will be in contact with you. Alternatively, you can give us a call Monday to Friday between 9:00am and 5:00pm.
We know choosing the right support is a big decision, and we’re here to help every step of the way.
To start, we invite you, your family and your support network to tour one of our Alkira sites. We’d love to show you around – it’s a chance to see our programs in action, meet our team, and ask any questions you might have.
If you’d like to take the next step, we’ll arrange a face-to-face meeting with Amelia and our Coordinators. They’ll walk you through the assessment and make sure Alkira is the right fit for your family’s goals and needs.

Alkira has its own fleet of buses; transport is available on a fee-for-service basis. Please contact us to find out what transport options are available for your circumstances.
Our services follow the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits. There’s a daily facility fee of $3.30 that isn’t covered by your NDIS plan and will need to be paid directly, this is invoiced at the end of each month. Programs may also have an additional activity fee. All other costs are billed according to your NDIS plan and depend on your individual supports.
We are a group-based service provider at a ratio of 1:3. We also can provide 1:1 support in a group-based setting or individually.
Our support is delivered by qualified, experienced, and dedicated staff. Many members of the Alkira team have been with us for years, allowing you to see familiar faces and build strong, trusting relationships with people who truly understand our programs and values.
This continuity of care is important to us. Many of our team members have been with Alkira for more than 10 years, and our longest-serving staff member has proudly supported our community for over 24 years.
We offer day programs from 8:45am to 3pm Monday to Friday. We also offer other fun, group programs after-hours – please look at our Recreation programs for further information.
