Momentum participants completing Certificate II in Work Education have been enjoying their work placements.
Participants enrolled in the Certificate II in Work Education course as a part of Momentum year 3 have recently undertaken their mandatory work placements, an essential and enriching part of their studies. These placements, arranged by Box Hill Institute and supported by Momentum staff, provide participants with the opportunity to gain real-world experience, while developing practical skills, confidence, and a clear understanding of workplace expectations.
The benefits of these placements are already shining through. Participants have embraced the challenge with enthusiasm and professionalism, and many have shared how much they’re learning and enjoying the experience. One standout example is Enrico, who recently completed his placement at Epworth Eastern’s Endoscopy Discharge section. Through this opportunity, he contributed meaningfully to the workplace while building valuable skills for his future career. Enrico’s favourite part of the placement was cleaning the vital signs monitors and making orders for patients (pictured).
“I attended two days a week for four weeks, assisting patients in the recovery centre by offering food and drinks after their procedures. I also helped clean medical equipment such as blood pressure monitors. It was a rewarding experience to be part of a healthcare team and support people during their recovery. I learned a lot and felt proud to contribute.”
These experiences are not only an important step in Momentum student’s education but also open doors to future opportunities, independence, and community connection.
