International Day of People with Disabilities (IDPwD) is a day for sharing stories, challenges and successes of people with disabilities. It is also a day to reflect where we have come from and where we are heading.
At Alkira we are always pushing for equality and representation of people who live with disabilities. Looking forward into the post-COVID world, we want everyone to have equal opportunity to make the most of their life and we will continue fighting for the rights of people with disabilities.
The COVID world we live in has disrupted lives – with confusing health messages, reduced access to routine health services and reduced access to Community Supports services. The daily lives of people with a disability has been full of challenges, however it has been great to see many make the most out of online alternatives.
Alkira participants have been eagerly prepping for this year’s event – we look forward to a day of celebrating challenges and successes!
