Board Announcement – New Chief Executive Officer, Julia Canty- Waldron

The Alkira Board of Directors is delighted to announce that Julia Canty-Waldron has been appointed as our new Chief Executive Officer. Julia will commence with us on Wednesday 7 December 2022. Julia’s appointment follows an exhaustive search process which attracted high quality candidates from both the commercial and not-for-profit sectors.

Julia comes to Alkira with extensive leadership experience in the not-for-profit sector, including disability. She is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, has a Master of Management (Strategic Foresight) from Swinburne University and has participated in the Said Business School “Scenarios Program” at Oxford University. Julia’s commitment to the disability sector and her understanding of the NDIS together with her excellent interpersonal skills, make us feel assured that Julia can lead us in the next chapter of the Alkira journey.

In making this announcement, the Board would like to acknowledge and thank both Diane Fitzmaurice and Laura Ubavin for their tireless and professional leadership as Interim CEOs over the past 9 months.

Given the timing of these leadership changes, the Board will be ensuring that the transition process works in the best interests for Alkira.
