This year’s awards announced at our Annual General Meeting on the 20th October 2020 were:

 

50 years of Service*

Ruth Walker

Alkira participant Ruth joined Alkira in 1970 when she was just 4 years old. Ruth has never let any hurdles stop her getting the most out of life. Those around her, know that Ruth is a strong and determined woman who strives for independence, exudes a generosity of spirit, can show great focus and drive and will always light a room with her smile. Congratulations Ruth on your 50 years of service with Alkira, you are a well-loved member of the Alkira family.

 

Significant Personal Achievement Award

Michael Moore

Alkira participant Michael faced the challenges of the COVID-19 lockdowns and used them as an opportunity for growth. We award Michael for conquering challenges while gaining skills along the way. He is a shining example of what great things you can achieve with determination and adaptability.

 

Outstanding Contribution Award

Ron Walker

Ron’s active involvement in Alkira as a volunteer began 42 years ago and it is irrefutable that he had an extraordinary commitment to Alkira from the very beginning. Thank you Ron, Alkira is grateful for your efforts throughout all these years. Although we are bidding you farewell as you retire from our board, we know that you are, and always will be, an important member of the Alkira family. Life Governorship

Gordon Jacobs

Gordon has been a member of our Board of Directors for nearly 16 years and is widely acknowledged for his contributions through his legal skills. Thank you so much Gordon for all that you have done, we congratulate you for this Life Governorship.

Oscar Canning

Alkira Momentum Instructor Oscar has wowed everyone with his passion, patience and professionalism. Participants, families and staff alike all sing his praises, and it is all well deserved. We congratulate him for the amazing work he has done with this Bright Star award. Thank you, Oscar!
